Deadline Aug. 6: Association Seeks Comments from Members on Proposed Amendments to Bylaws

Dear Members,

For the past two-and-a-half years, the Philadelphia Bar Association's Bylaws Committee, chaired by Marc Zucker, has been reviewing and considering revisions to the Association's Bylaws. The Bylaws have not undergone substantial revision for more than a quarter century so the Committee has proposed numerous revisions. The Committee's proposed revisions are reflected in the clean draft and draft with track changes, and summarized in part in the summary of highlighted changes.

Please review these documents and if you have any comments or suggested revisions, send them to Charles J. Klitsch, Esq. at cklitsch@philabar.org no later than Aug. 6. This will allow the Bylaws Committee sufficient time to consider your comments and suggested revisions, and incorporate revisions with which the Bylaws Committee agrees before the Committee presents its proposed Bylaws revisions to the Cabinet at the Cabinet’s meeting on Aug. 21 and asks the Board of Governors to approve the Committee’s proposed revisions to the Bylaws at the Board’s meeting on Aug. 30. All comments and revisions should be specific, with numerical reference to specific provisions of the Bylaws.

Thank you for assisting us with this project and for your dedication to our Bar Association.
