Nominations Due Today: Public Interest Section Pollak and Hamilton* Awards

The Philadelphia Bar Association's Public Interest Section is now accepting nominations for the annual Honorable Louis H. Pollak and Andrew Hamilton Awards. The awards will be presented at the Section's Annual Awards Ceremony and Reception on Thursday, Dec. 8 (Save the date).

Deadline Extended to Nov. 11: Nominations Sought for both the Dandridge Diversity Award and the Replansky Memorial Award

Nominations are now being accepted for both the Albert S. Dandridge, III Business Law Section Diversity Award and the Dennis H. Replansky Memorial Award.

Nominations for each award are accepted from any member of the Business Law Section.     Volunteer Panels Needed for Federal Court

    The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania invites you to join one of its prisoner civil rights and employment panels.

    The members of the prisoner civil rights panel provide legal representation to prison inmates for constitutional violations by law enforcement officers before the inmate was incarcerated that relate to the matter(s) for which the inmate is then incarcerated.

    The employment panel members represent plaintiffs in cases that are brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination Employment Act, the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Rehabilitation Act and state claims which can be properly appended to federal employment claims.

    VIP Family Law Practice Group Nov. 9

    Philadelphia VIP will provide a Family Law Practice Group at Philadelphia VIP, 1500 Walnut St., Suite 400, on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 12 p.m., for volunteers handling family law cases and volunteers interested in handling such cases to collaborate, ask questions, and learn from other volunteers.
