The Lawyer Referral and Information Service has been serving the public and the Philadelphia legal community for more than 50 years. Each year, tens of thousands of area residents turn to LRIS for direction with their legal problems and to be referred to attorneys in private practice.

Applying for membership is quick and easy. First, download and read the LRIS Operating Rules. Next, print out and complete the LRIS Application. Certain referral panels have specific experience requirements for membership. Those panels are marked with an asterisk (*) on the panel list in the application. To be considered for membership on a panel with experience requirements, go to Experience Requirements, locate the appropriate panel member requirements form in the index, print out the page and complete. Mail the completed and signed application and, if applicable, the appropriate experience requirements forms to: Lawyer Referral and Information Service, Philadelphia Bar Association, 1101 Market St., 11th Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19107-2911.

If you have any questions about the rules, the application or the program, you may contact the Association's director of public and legal services, Charles J. Klitsch, at (215) 238-6326 or
