Young Lawyers Division Annual Meeting Feb. 22
PHILADELPHIAMichael B. Hayes, chair of the Young Lawyers Division, will outline his plans for 2006 at the Young Lawyers Division Annual Meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at Loews Philadelphia Hotel. Michael R. Stiles, vice president of the Philadelphia Phillies and former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, will be the keynote speaker.
Michael Stiles, has served a Vice President for Operations and Administration of the Philadelphia Phillies since April 2001. From 1993 until joining the Phillies, Stiles was the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where he successfully prosecuted federal crimes of police corruption, white collar fraud, civil rights violations, politcal corruption, organized crime, and significant drug organizations.
In addition, Stiles has served as a trial judge in the Common Pleas Court of Philadelphia, a prosecutor in the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office, and the First Assistant District Attorney of Philadelphia.
He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his law degree from Villanova University School of Law.
Also at the meeting, the YLD will present the Craig M. Perry Service Award to Kassem L. Lucas, an associate at Pepper Hamilton; and the YLD Vision Award to Mellon Financial; and the F. Sean Peretta Service Award to Gwen Roseman Stern, an attorney and educator.
