I am respected and admired;
I am reviled and lied about;
I am a success in my community and can be depended upon;
I am a disgrace, a liar, a legal cheater and only good for taking “peoples” money;
I am a credit to my Race and trusted by my People;
I am a Black Lawyer who cannot be trusted because I have betrayed my own people.
I can be what I want to be, and go where I want to go, a Philadelphia Lawyer is regaled all over the world;
I have also heard that we should all be locked up, and the keys thrown away.
A Philadelphia Lawyer is all things to all people, depending upon where you are, who you are, whose you are, where you practice, with whom you practice, what area of law you practice, how old you are, how young you are, what area of the City you are from, and what law school you attended.
If you can stand tall in spite of all of the factors listed above, then you can proudly call yourself a Philadelphia Lawyer and take immense pride in your work. I have done so, I still do, and it has been extremely rewarding.
