Membership in the Philadelphia Bar Association is valuable to me because it gives me the opportunity to work on important issues that impact my community. In my practice, I work in one subject area, but as a member of the Public Interest Section and the Board of Governors I am able to think about and contribute to and work on a variety of issues that I would never have been able to address otherwise.

When I started practicing in 1999, it wasn’t even a question that I would join the Association. My partners made sure that happened as they were quite involved, and, as it turns out, the three of us each were chair of the Family Law Section at some point in our careers. I have met many wonderful professionals from all areas of the law which means that any time I need information, I have someone to call. The diversity of the Bar Association means I have gained a diversity of insight and perspective. The interaction with the bench has meant that the members can make real change in our judicial system. The Bar Association has given me that access that I would not have had without it.
