PFAS Regulation: What Does It All Mean?

This CLE presentation will address the latest developments on Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) regulation and examining challenges in the context of voluntary cleanups, transactions, and litigation.

The program will offer:
- A refresher on the chemical properties of per and polyfluoroalkyl substances and their impacts on the environment
- Guidance regarding the real-world implications of:

• The recently published medium specific concentrations (MSCs) for PFOA, PFOS and PFNB in soil and groundwater on voluntary cleanups undertaken under Act 2
• PADEP’s proposed maximum contaminant levels (MCLs) for PFOA and PFOS in drinking water and the impact of EPA’s updated Health Advisory Level
• EPA’s recent PFAS-related regulations and proposed regulations, including the proposed listing of POFA and PFOS as Hazardous Substances under CERCLA
• The challenges of detection, delineation and remediation of PFAS

PFAS are a prevalent emerging environmental contaminant and there is now an increased awareness of the potential adverse human health and environmental impacts of PFAS. Attend this program to learn what you need to know and do about PFAS regulations.

Transferring a registration to a substitute course date and time are welcomed. If you do not attend the course and did not notify Philadelphia Bar Association in the appropriate advanced notice, you will receive the course materials in full consideration of tuition paid.
