Pennsylvania Assessment Law – the Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Program Originally Presented Thursday, April 23, 2026

In Pennsylvania, each county sets a value for every taxable property within the county, called an assessment. That assessment governs what is to be paid in annual real estate tax to your county. Unfortunately, unexpected county reassessments may cause owners to face significantly higher taxes.

This CLE program will provide a comprehensive overview of Pennsylvania's assessment system, highlighting its strengths, weaknesses, and areas of contention.  Specifically, this presentation will focus on Common Level Ratios (CLR), county-wide reassessments and taxing jurisdiction appeals.

Attend this program for an overview of Pennsylvania assessment law, and practical guidance on CLR considerations, reassessments and filing appeals.
