Food for Thought: How Nutrition Impacts Decision-Making, Focus, Problem-solving and Productivity in a High-Pressure Legal Environment

Program Originally Presented Monday, April 27, 2026

In this CLE presentation, we’ll explore how, what and when you eat directly impacts your ability to focus, think clearly, communicate effectively, and make decisions under pressure.

The program offers a break-down of how common patterns in high-demand professions (like skipping meals, relying on convenience foods, or eating inconsistently) can lead to brain fog, fatigue, mental slumps, increased stress and productivity loss.

We’ll also examine how nutrition intersects with diversity and inclusion, specifically how cultural food practices, access, and workplace norms can shape eating habits and impact overall well-being.

What We’ll Cover:

  • The connection between nutrition and cognitive performance (focus, memory, decision-making)
  • How inconsistent eating impacts energy, mood, discernment and communication
  • Simple strategies to support sustained energy during long or unpredictable workdays
  • How, in the workplace, culture, diversity, and access influence eating habits
  • Practical ways to build more inclusive and realistic approaches to nutrition at work

What You’ll Walk Away With:

  • A better understanding of how nutrition directly impacts your performance at work
  • Practical ways to support your energy, focus, decision-making and productivity, even on busy days

Attend this program to learn how the effectiveness of healthy workplace nutrition improves productivity, the ability to focus, communicate effectively, and make decisions in a high-pressure work environment.
