Show Me the Money: The Legal Landscape and Strategies for Achieving Pay Equity

Program originally presented Monday, May 18, 2026

Pay equity remains one of the most pressing, evolving, and elusive issues in employment law. Alongside a presentation on federal and state pay equity laws, proposed legislation, and jurisprudence around equal pay, this CLE program will also provide a dual perspective analysis of pay equity for both employers and employees.

For the employer, the program will explore strategies to identify and remediate pay disparities. Attendees will gain practical guidance on minimizing litigation risk, responding to agency investigations, and addressing transparency and disclosure obligations.

For the employee, the program will examine advocacy and negotiation tools available to challenge inequities. Topics include analyzing compensation data, leveraging pay transparency laws, and pursuing claims under equal pay statutes.

The program will also address emerging trends, including the impact of salary history bans, pay transparency mandates, and increased regulatory enforcement.

Key Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the current legal landscape governing pay equity at federal and state levels
  • Evaluate claims and defenses in pay discrimination litigation
  • Advise clients on compliance with pay transparency and reporting obligations
  • Recognize ethical considerations and risks in compensation decision-making
  • Learn advocacy and negotiation tools to challenge pay inequities

Attend this program to hear a dual perspective analysis of pay equity for both employers and employees, as well as emerging trends in federal and state pay equity laws.
