Current President Judge Idee C. Fox will step down from the role later this month and is retiring at the end of the year.

With the November 7 general election approaching, the  Philadelphia Bar Association Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention has released its recommendations for Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and Philadelphia Municipal Court judges seeking to be retained for another 10 year term in their current positions on the bench.

Philadelphia Bar Association Chancellor Marc J. Zucker has issued a statement in support of City Council Resolution 230706.

“As an association of thousands of lawyers who stand for mutual respect, security and the rule of law, and who promote constructive solutions to intractable problems locally, nationally and globally, we support City Council Resolution No. 230706, condemning the horrific and brutal acts of terrorism by Hamas, which have caused tremendous human suffering and death through barbaric acts that violate international law,” Zucker said.

The Philadelphia Bar Association has entered into a two-year annual partnership agreement with Wealth Enhancement Group, a national independent wealth management firm with more than $66.8 billion in client assets. The partnership will give Association members access to Wealth Enhancement Group's extensive specialization in financial wellness and trust management through continuing legal education programs (CLEs), lunch-and-learns, thought leadership, and other opportunities.

Philadelphia Bar Association Chancellor Marc J. Zucker released the following statement remembering longtime member, community leader and Temple University Acting President JoAnne A. Epps.

“The Philadelphia Bar Association is profoundly shocked and saddened at the sudden loss of Acting President Epps, a beloved member of our Association,” Zucker said. “From a professional and personal point of view, this is a terrible loss.”
